If you're looking for a fashion blog with outfit photos to exhibit my snazzy fashion sense, this is not the blog for you. Those images remain in my head, as my school-run, frazzled mum look would not cut it in the style stakes. This isn't to say that I have no style or no interest in fashion. I've been reading Vogue since I was 13, it's all I dream about. Dream, being the key word here.
Fashion to me, is a gateway to another world. You can put on an item of clothing and be transported to another era, social standing and life. Maybe it's the aspirational element that the design houses create that attracts me. I spent some time denouncing my love of fashion it can often be seen as fickle of shallow. The same would never be said of Painting, Sculpture, Film-making or Music.

I've watched with great interest as the business of fashion has become all-consuming. Fashion has always been a bed-mate with music, art and culture, and with rapid pace the Fashion Industry has had to embrace the social media. Those design houses who are utilising this have flourised, Burberry has been a major player. Where before I could only see the latest handbag, designs in Vogue, now we are fed it as it happens via Twitter, Bloggers, and websites.

So what is the purpose of this blog? For me it's a personal place to discuss my inspirations, musings on the fashion world, and my aspirations to forge a career in the Fashion Industry. I have spent years working in jobs that I am neither interested in nor very good at. Now I've had children I am more focused and the time spent away from them has to be on things that I am passionate about. I've had a fear of failing and so have tended to dismiss things. When I finished my A-Levels I didn't even think about a career in fashion or studying it, I didn't know it was a possibility. My aim now is to be accepted onto the Foundation Degree of Fashion Marketing and Promotion at the London College of Fashion. Even typing that make me feel a little bit queasy, I start having doubts of being too old, the Fashion Industry is not know for it's flexibility and is extremely competitive, but I've spent too many years not trying.
